Venue Location

Alfred Lerner Hall is located at 2920 Broadway, on the northeast corner of Broadway and West 114th Street in Manhattan. Enter the building on Broadway.

Five bus lines (M4, M5, M11, M60, M104) and one subway line (the No. 1 local) serve the Columbia neighborhood. The Columbia stop for the subway is at West 116th Street and Broadway. The M60 bus connects the campus and LaGuardia Airport.

Columbia University is located in the Morningside Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, near the #1 subway train line at 116th Street.

  • Public transit: take the M60 bus from Frederick Douglass Blvd/W 125 St to Broadway/116th Street. Estimated travel time: 15 minutes.
  • Walking: approximately 20 minutes
  • By taxi: approximately 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • Public transit - Subway: Take the 1 train northbound from 79th St to 116th St/Columbia University. Estimated travel time: 10 minutes.
  • Public transit - Bus: Take the M104 from Broadway/77th St or Broadway/79th Street to Broadway/113th St. Estimated travel time: 25 minutes.
  • Walking: Approximately 40 minutes.
  • Taxi: Approximately 10-20 minutes, depending on traffic. 

Warwick New York

  • Public transit - Subway: Take the 1 train northbound from 50th St to 116th St/Columbia University. Estimated travel time: 25 minutes.
  • Public transit - Bus: Take the M5 from 6th Avenue/W 57th Street to Riverside Drive/114th St. Estimated travel time: 35 minutes.
  • Taxi: Approximately 15-40 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • All subway and bus rides cost a flat rate of $2.75. You can pay by purchasing a Metrocard (available at all subway stations) or tap-to-pay with a credit card or mobile phone. 
  • Taxis and rideshares (Uber, Lyft) are widely available, from all airports and around New York City.
  • Street parking can be extremely limited and we recommend using public transit or taxi/rideshare. If you do drive to campus, the closest paid parking garage to the venue is at 511 W. 114th Street, between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenues. 

Getting to Columbia University from the Airport via public transit:

  • From Newark Liberty International Airport: Take the AirTrain to the Airport Station, then an NJ Transit train to New York Penn Station. From there, take the #1 subway uptown to 116th Estimated total travel time to Columbia: 1 hour 10 min, total cost: $15.75 (NJ transit + subway fare).
  • From JFK International Airport: Take the AirTrain to Jamaica, Queens (note that only every other train goes to Jamaica). Then:
    • Option 1: Take the Long Island Rail Road (20 min) to Penn Station
    • Option 2: Take the E subway train (30 min) to Times Square-42 St.
    • For either option, then transfer to the #1 train uptown. Estimated total travel time: 1 hour 20 min
  • From LaGuardia Airport: Take the M60 bus toward West Side-Broadway/W 106 St. Get off at the Amsterdam Ave/W 120 St stop. Estimated total travel time to Columbia: 1 hour 15 min
